Guide to the Wotnot Book

"In the ancient mists of time the Gods conspired to forge a magical tome, called the Wotnot Book, to maintain control over nature and the Elements. Within the Wotnot were contained ten Elemental Warriors—powerful spirit beings whose responsibility it was to safeguard the natural world."

The Wotnot Book is a wondrous tool. With it you can learn how to solve puzzles, beat boss monsters, examine and upgrade Elemental Warriors, use Crystal Eyes to enhance your combat prowess, and adjust game options. Here’s a quick primer on how to get the most out of this powerful tome.

Consult the Wotnot Book for Clues: Press the Start button to bring up the Wotnot book and say hello to Ortho. The right and left triggers turn the pages forwards and backwards respectively. Get More (or Less) Help from Ortho: Press the Start button to open the Wotnot Book. Pull the right trigger twice, select Game Options with the left thumbstick and press the A button. Select Ortho hints and set them to Helpful (if you want more help), Adaptive (if you want gradual help), or Off if you don’t want any help at all (recommended for expert or hardcore gamers).

Get Info and Upgrade Elemental Warriors: Bring up the Wotnot Book and pull the right trigger once to open the Elemental Warrior pages. Select the Warrior you want and press the A button to bring up that warrior’s page. Select any attack or maneuver and press the A button to learn about that attack. If you are buying an upgrade, select the ability you wish to purchase and press the A button, then select Upgrade to purchase it. Press the B button to go back to the Elemental Warriors pages.

Assign Crystal Eyes: There are four Crystal Eyes (Restoration, Strength, Spirit, and Protection) in the game, each of which imparts one or more bonuses to Kameo’s powers. Bring up the Wotnot book and pull the Right trigger twice to go to the Crystal Eyes page. Move the cursor to select the Crystal Eye you wish to assign, press the A button once, select Assign, then press the A button again. Note that each Eye imparts bonuses but also a penalty, so you may want to assign or unassign one of the Crystal Eyes depending on your current situation.

Enable Unlocked Content: You can enable unlocked skins for Kameo and other unlockable items through the Wotnot Book. Open the Wotnot Book and turn to the last page. Highlight Bonus and press the right trigger. You may initially only see three entres for locked Bonus Items. If something has been unlocked,  you may enable it here. Select the item from the menu and press the Left or Right trigger to scroll through available options. For example, if you've scored high enough in the game to unlock one of the many alternate skins for Kameo (or if you've downloaded the Winter Warrior pack and want to enable Kameo's holiday skin), you will see "Kameo: Standard" listed here. Pressing the left or right trigger will scroll through other available skins.
