He may be slow, well as the smallest Elemental Warrior, but Thermite packs a mighty wallop with his array of fiery, explosive mortars, which can lay waste to an entire landscape in short order – especially once he’s fully upgraded. Thermite can also become invulnerable and move very quickly with his Blast Shield power (at least until his Spirit runs out).

Basic Techniques

Mortar (LT to toggle)
Activate Mortar mode to fire off the highly destructive, explosive Lava Bomb, and to use Thermite’s Back Blast attack.

Firecracker (RT)
This attack blasts a short-ranged cone of firecrackers directly in front of Thermite. The spiky firecrackers detonate individually, and stick to any Trolls unlucky enough to be caught in the blast. The kickback from the Firecracker attack knocks Thermite back a short distance, so be careful using this attack near ledges.

Lava Bomb (LT to enter Mortar mode, RT to fire)
The Mortar attack fires a vastly destructive, fiery bomb that detonates shortly after impact. This attack is so powerful that it can stun even the most heavily armored Trolls and destroy obstacles – even obstacles made of stone.

Blast Shield (LT+RT)
Activating Blast Shield makes Thermite invulnerable to damage, and also allows him to roll very rapidly across the ground.

Advanced Techniques

Fire Burst
This upgrades Thermite’s Lava Bombs so they leave behind a pool of burning fire for several seconds, singing any Trolls foolish enough to get caught in them.

Atom Splitter
This upgrades the Lava Bomb attack so it splits into multiple, smaller bombs, which in turn explode, cutting a swath of fiery destruction through Thermite’s enemies.

Backblast (LT to activate Mortar, then pull and hold LT+RT)
This power creates a swirling vortex in front of Thermite’s magma bowl. Enemies caught in the vortex are slowly dragged into the magma bowl until they are stuck. Once an enemy is trapped, pull the Right trigger to have Thermite launch his enemy far, far away.

Spirit Up
This increases Thermite’s Spirit Bar.
