Elemental Strategy: Snare
Don’t let his foliage fool you; this kissin’ cousin to Pummel Weed is one bad plant, and one of the best offensive fighters in the game.
Snare is an all around tough and tumble offensive Warrior capable of scooping up opponents in his mouth and spitting them out (to their doom) or swallowing them (to their doom). His Bite and Spit Baddy powers – both Basic Techniques – can pick up enemies even Chilla can’t pick up (like Armored Trolls).
Snare’s ability to Root and swing his head around in an arc works well for keeping opponents off their feet, but try to keep moving and don’t let yourself get surrounded. Snare is best used for rapidly snatching opponents in your jaws and spitting them off cliffs or into hazards. Keep grabbing enemies and spitting them for quick kills and lots of Brutal/Frenzy bonuses.
Snare’s Root Tremor isn’t overly powerful, although once upgraded to Rootquake it fires out in four directions simultaneously, and has greater range. Both Root and Rootquake make Snare very effective at dealing with large groups and, in the right environment, scoring tons of Brutal and Frenzy bonuses. Snare’s Rootquake, unfortunately, will not flip over Trolls in armored shells. Also, like Pummel Weed, water heals Snare.

Expert Tip: Snare’s Toxic Bile attack is slow, but can hit multiple enemies in a short arc (using the left thumbstick to control the direction of his head). The bile inflicts continuous damage -- if it doesn't kill the victim outright, you'll quickly achieve Warrior Focus with a single spew! Messy, but highly effective.

As if Snare wasn’t tough enough already, his Lockjaw attack devours any enemy held in his mouth in a single bite, for a quick, tasty snack and (yet another) means to score a fast Brutal bonus and eliminate a pesky Troll.
Snare is a major offensive player, and it is well worth upgrading every one of his abilities. The key is to stick and move, using Rootquake to keep enemies at bay while snatching others for a quick spit off a cliff or Lockjaw attack. We recommend upgrading with Rootquake and Lockjaw first, followed by Spirit Up and Toxic Bile.
