The WotNot Book:

Elemental Strategy: 40 Below

40 Below combines a decent amount of offensive punch with a devastatingly effective arsenal for clearing away enemies quickly and achieving Warrior Focus mode. Although he can be a bit tricky to use and requires careful maneuvering to aim his attacks, 40 Below can be very effective as both an offensive and supporting Elemental Warrior.

In order to use 40 Below’s best attacks, he use the Snowball power to summon a giant, spiky snowball. Don’t get hit in combat while carrying the snowball, or 40 Below will drop it and you’ll have to summon another one.

Expert Tip: Just like the icy bridges in Snow Top village that only 40 Below can use, there are special, near transparent chests lying around Snow Top village that only 40 Below can open with his Icy Breath.

The Wrecker attack is a Basic Technique and one of 40 Below’s best. Use the Wrecker to send enemies flying in every direction – very useful for cutting a path through hordes of opponents or eliminating them entirely by sending them off cliffs or into hazards.

The Snow Roller attack (an Advanced Technique) is an excellent tool for activating Warrior Focus mode if you can aim it properly. Once the Snow Roller hits an enemy, it continues rolling over them while they are stuck to the snowball, charging up 40 Below’s Warrior Focus meter with every roll. Used against an enemy over a good distance, you can quickly hit Warrior Focus mode with this attack.

Upgrade 40 Below with Snow Roller, Icequake, and Spirit Up as soon as possible. Adding to his Spirit increases the amount of time he can deploy his Wrecker attack, and the Snow Roller is great for achieving Warrior Focus. Icequake is good for keep enemies at bay and buying time to set up a good Snow Roller. The Wrecker, Snow Roller, Icequake and Spirit up are arguably 40 Below’s best attacks and all you’ll need. We seldom used his Icy Breath and Snowblower attacks, although they are good for quick stick-and-move attacks to help set up the Wrecker or Snow Roller, or to use after you’ve achieved Warrior Focus.
