AWARD WINNING WRITER SUNMIN PARK AND RENOWND ANIME ARTIST HIROYUKI KITAZUME PARTNER WITH PRIMA GAMES TO PUBLISH “KAMEO: ELEMENTS OF POWER” MANGA SERIES
Manga will preview in official Kameo game guide
ROSEVILLE, Calif., October XX, 2005 - Prima Games, a division of Random House Inc., today announced the upcoming release of a manga series based on the Kameo™: Elements of Power™ video game developed by Rare Limited which will be published by Microsoft Game Studios. The broad-appeal fantasy action-adventure title will be released this holiday season exclusively for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system. A preview of the manga will appear in Kameo: Elements of Power — Prima’s Official Game Guide, releasing in mid-November. The four-page section will introduce the storyline and artistic style that the remainder of the series will follow. Beginning in spring 2006, Prima will publish six bi-monthly issues, each 32-pages in length. At the end of the series Prima will publish a 192-page compilation of all the books in the series.
In “Kameo: Elements of Power,” as a young Elf, Kameo must master her new ability to transform into mystical warriors and harness their powers to save her people from Thorn, the evil Troll king.
The manga series will be written by award winning writer Sunmin Park and illustrated by acclaimed artist Hiroyuki Kitazume. Park is an accomplished writer/director/producer who at age 12 was awarded the Korea Times Best Young Writer award. Park recently co-wrote, produced and directed the English version of SKY BLUE, a groundbreaking multi-layered HD digital animation feature which premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Park’s producing credits also include THE OTHERS, starring Nicole Kidman and directed by Alejandro Amenábar, and THE EMPEROR AND THE ASSASSIN, starring Gong Li. Kitazume is renowned in the anime industry; his character designs, artwork and animation have appeared in the epic sci-fi Mobile Suit Gundam series as well as Moldiver and Vampire Wars.
