  • Gamespy's Holiday Guide: [11.16.2005] Gamespy's 2005 Holiday Guide is out on their site! They spotlight Kameo and other great Rare titles as their picks. They say, "Every year the best of the best in gaming is unleashed during the holidays. This year is especially big, because the Xbox 360 is here at last -- and with it, the next generation of the console race."

  • IGN's Holiday Guide: [11.16.2005] IGN says, "The most exciting thing this holiday is Microsoft's Xbox 360.... The Xbox 360 is an impressive piece of hardware with a multifaceted interface unlike any console you've seen before, and this year's lineup promises a healthy range of shooters, driving games, sports, action, and adventure titles."

  • Gamespot: [11.16.2005] "Plenty of original, funny, visually stunning, and fun-filled moments await in Kameo: Elements of Power, which is the first Xbox 360 action adventure game, as well as a standard-setter."

  • Maxmedia to produce feature animation adaptation of Kameo: Elements of Power.

  • New York Times: "Kameo, was, to me, the sleeper surprise of the show and seemed to be the game at X05 that most fully demonstrated the potential for next-generation, single-player console gaming. Maybe it's hard to call a game that has been in development for five tortured years a sleeper, but Kameo (being made by Rare, the same British developer behind Perfect Dark Zero) almost seemed under the radar coming into X05. It won't be when the 360 hits stores. The visuals were gorgeous (even if the trolls look an awful lot like orcs from Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft universe), the play seemed varied, and the game does a good job of letting the player do things that are simply not possible on current systems, like fight through a battlefield filled with thousands of individually rendered soldiers. The game seems heavier on action than the Zelda franchise but poised to move right into Zelda's action-adventure niche."

  • GameInformer.com"Kameo: Elements of Power is definitely going to surprise a lot of skeptics. Anyone who loves that 3-D action style adventure of The Legend of Zelda will find plenty to love here. The potential of ten different playable characters all with drastically different and upgradeable move sets boggles the mind when it comes to battle and puzzle-solving possibilities."

  • GameCloud.com: "Kameo: Elements of Power - Of the Xbox 360 first party launch titles from Microsoft, this fantasy action game from Rare was the one that impressed me the most. There are some absolutely gorgeous graphics on display in this game and the gameplay matches the looks. You control the title character, a female fairy that can morph into several different creatures, each with their own particular abilities. Our favorite while playing the build at the press event was the Chilla, a big yeti with spikes on his back. So what? So how about the yeti grabbing enemy monsters, and impaling them with his back spikes, then keeps fighting with a creature still impaled on his back. Now that's a game feature. The cartoony style may be offputting to some but it's still a fun action-adventure game and will likely be the sleeper hit for the Xbox 360."

  • Joystiq.com: "Kameo could be a breakthrough title that attracts a huge audience of casual and younger-aged gamers—there are also elements that cater to the hardcore. Kameo’s 'hover' ability (she can fly a few feet off of the ground) is just plain cool."

  • "Players will have to use a decent amount of strategy to work their way through some of the puzzles in the game, and get through some of the enemy hordes. Just make sure you're not too awestruck by the outstanding visuals, because Kameo is easily one of the best looking Xbox 360 games that will be available at launch." -- Bryan Dawson

  • “Kameo will impress all but the most jaded pundits with its stellar visuals and complex enemy battles and AI. Here's hoping the overall gameplay experience is nothing but pure classic Rare magic.”
